Is coaching the same as therapy?

Coaching and therapy are both valuable approaches that help individuals navigate through life’s challenges, but they differ in their focus and objectives. Coaching is forward-looking and action-oriented, designed to empower individuals to achieve their goals and potential. It focuses on identifying strengths, setting specific objectives, and creating actionable plans to overcome obstacles and reach success. Coaching is ideal for individuals seeking personal growth, career advancement, or lifestyle improvement. It provides guidance, support, and accountability, fostering self-awareness and boosting confidence.

On the other hand, therapy primarily deals with addressing and resolving past traumas, emotional issues, and psychological disorders. It aims to help individuals heal from past experiences, improve mental health, and develop coping mechanisms to manage emotional struggles. Therapy, on the other hand, is more suitable for individuals dealing with mental health concerns, unresolved traumas, or emotional distress that requires deeper exploration and healing.

Do you give onsite training for businesses?

Yes, I am available for onsite training. Extra charges may apply.

How often do we meet?

The frequency of our sessions is strongly linked to the nature of goals, what you would like to achieve, and when you would like to achieve them. We will address this point during our initial consultation.

Will I get tasks to work on between sessions?

Coaching is about guiding you to make changes and how to reach your goals. I will walk side by side with you during the process but I expect you to take accountability to execute on actions. At the end of every session, we will agree on specific activities and actions tailored to your needs, goals, lifestyle and time.

Is there a cancellation policy?

It can happen that you may need to cancel or reschedule a session due to illness or other unforeseen events. As long as you let me know with at least 24 hours of advance notice, there is no fee for canceled or rescheduled sessions. With less than 24 hours’ notice, cancellations or no-shows are billed at the regular session rate.

Is our work confidential?

The content of every session will be strictly confidential. There are only a couple of exceptions to this: I have reason to believe that a client has a concrete plan to harm himself or herself or to cause harm to someone else. Under these circumstances, I am legally required to share the minimum information needed to keep that client (or intended target of harm) safe.
